MUMBAI: Saath Nibhaana Saathiya is an Indian television drama that premiered on 3 May 2010 on Star Plus and gained massive popularity for its various plotline antics. The show's viewers had been hooked to it since the first day of its airing to last, credits being given to the outstanding on-screen performances that were delivered by telly actresses like Rupal Patel, Giaa Manek, Ruchaa Hasabnis, Mohammad Nazim and Devoleena Bhattacharjee (who later replaced Giaa) as the show's pivotal leads for playing the roles of Kokila Modi, Gopi Modi, Rashi Modi and Ahem Modi, respectively.
Despite its huge cast line, viewers were seen staying hooked onto and rooting for two on-screen duos from the show - the saas-bahu duo of Kokila Modi and her Gopi Bahu and the on-screen husband-wife duo of Ahem and Gopi.
The show garnered immense popularity almost a decade ago and later in the present day, referral clips from the show starring Gopi Bahu, Rashi and Kokila Modi were drawn out of it for creating hilarious memes, which went viral virtually in no time. Gopi Bahu turned an iconic character for her hilarious scene, wherein she was shown washing her husband Ahem's laptop with a dishwasher and then hanging it on the clothes' rope outside for letting it dry. Meanwhile, on returning home, Ahem went furiously berserk on witnessing the same.
Gopi did so since the storyline portrayed her as completely illiterate and who had no knowledge of handling technical gadgets and this is where Gopi-Ahem's chemistry turns exciting since Ahem was a graduate scholar from abroad who had zero tolerance towards unnecessary drama and careless
Gopi and Ahem were characteristically poles apart despite being soulmates. Ahem was a scholar-turned-businessman who was punctual, presentable and well-versed with the English language; while on the other hand, as they referred to her in the show, Gopi was basically a 'gawar' (illiterate) who had no dressing sense, no formal education or degree, could not spell a single word in English and had a calas approach towards doing a task.

However, taking a note of their inert characteristics, Ahem was initially rude, selfish, arrogant, ungrateful and even a paramour for cheating on Gopi with his former girlfriend even after their marriage. However, on the other hand, Gopi was totally opposite as she was generous, gullible, caring, kind, grateful, loving and most importantly - loyal to her committed relationship.
While Ahem was a workaholic, Gopi used to dedicate her whole life to 'Kanhaji' (Lord Krishna) and her mother-in-law Kokila Modi, who helped to push her beyond her boundaries to see and experience the real world.
With Kokila's help, Gopi became self-dependent, educated and empowered, which helped her to make Ahem realise his wrongdoings and that she's totally worthy of him. Gradually, with Ahem getting caring and committed towards Gopi and taking up her responsibilities, the duo's proximity increased, such that they created the love story of a lifetime.
Giaa and Nazim looked super cute together and imparted major on-screen couple goals, just like Radha-Krishna. Hence, the audience went berserk when Giaa was replaced by Devoleena Bhattacharjee as 'Gopi Bahu'. However, even their on-screen chemistry worked wonders and the show simply took off successfully.
Now, without any further ado, scroll down to catch the timeless glimpses of Giaa Manek and Mohammad Nazim's precious chemistry as Gopi Modi (Gopi Bahu) and Ahem Modi in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya...
