MUMBAI: Star Plus has ventured into unexplored territory. Star Plus has arrived with its new show, Maati Se Bandhi Dor, starring Rutuja Bagwe and Ankit Gupta in lead roles.

Shiwani Chakraborty plays an integral role of Kaveri in the show and she got candid with TellyChakkar about her experience shooting for the show. (Also Read: Exclusive! Nimki Mukhiya actress Shiwani Chakraborty roped in for SoBo Films' next on Star Plus)

The actress shared, “This show is a little different. It depicts a farmer’s life who is trying to earn his bread and is working hard towards it. Until now we have seen families of Thakurs and Singhs ruling a village with a mukhiya but this is a different concept. My role of Kaveri is also very rooted and the character is designed such that it requires natural acting. It is something which I have not done so far.”

Shiwani further added, “What I learn from this role is that it is easier to play a dramatic personality as one can express a lot through makeup, costumes and jewellery too but playing a simple character which is well layered is a challenge in itself.”

For the uninitiated, the current drama showcases Vaiju shifting to Rannvijay’s house to take care of her sister Jaya. The members of the family have been scheming, plotting and planning to remove Vaiju out of the house. Vaiju, however, is strong and is trying her best to keep problems at bay. She is focusing on her sister’s health only. On the other hand, Rannvijay has been treating her very badly too. Parallel to this, Kaveri is seen dealing with some domestic issues too.
