MUMBAI: Mahika Sharma is shocked to know that former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is no more. The former chief minister passed away on 23 November due to post COVID complications. He was 86 and active in politics until he tested positive for the virus in August.
Former Miss Teen Northeast Mahika, who hails from Assam, says, ‘I'm really shocked to read about Tarun uncle. I have lost my dad again. His smile and a welcoming face are still in front of my eyes. I remember how he once said to me, smile on your troubles and you see how trouble turns your happiness.’

The actress has featured in Ramayana and F.I.R. She adds that she was trying to reach him during Diwali but she failed. "On Diwali I was trying to ping uncle. But I failed then later on International Men's Day I tried again but couldn't. I'm feeling so sorry that I couldn't reach him out. But I wish he keeps his blessings over me always. I wish he rests in peace. I also wish to God that his family get the power to overcome the loss. I would have joined them but because of COVID, it won’t be safe now. I will meet them once I plan to travel back to Assam."
