She was touted as India's Shakira, but failed to please the junta for votes in Sa Re Ga Ma Challenge 2007. American desi Mauli Dave was eliminated from the pratham yudh last night.
It wasn't the result but the timing of it that took her by surprise. The graceful performer, with a never say die attitude says, "I sang poorly, but people still voted for me. In the last few weeks, I did extremely well but they've now eliminated me. It does hurt a bit. However, I'm going out on a positive note."

She may be out of Sa Re… but isn't going back to USA soon. She's already had her first taste of playback singing. "I've just recorded a song, composed by my mentor Bappi Lihari in the film Ho Jayegi Balle Balle," adds Mauli.
On her Sa Re… experience, the Gujju girl states, "It's been a tremendous experience. I'll cherish all the funny moments. Above all, I've grown as a singer."
