Mukti Mohan : Saroj Khan said I will make it big in Bollywood

TV audiences have seen Mukti Mohan dance her way into their homes through Star Plus’ dance reality show, Zara Nachke Dikha, and also in a few TVCs. But that is not the only time she has hogged the limelight. In fact, there are a series of events in Mukti’s life that she can boast of. The first incident is related to her alma mater, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth. Her school’s band has been a part of the Indian Republic Day Parade at New Delhi, since the time the country became a republic in 1950. The band is called Pilani Band and Mukti has had the honor of being a part of this band thrice. “I participated in the parade three times; once as a side drummer, then as a band leader and lastly as a side band leader,” reveals Mukti. The next event is about four years old. Mukti was chosen for a show called MTV iSuperstar. According to the show’s concept, individuals got a chance to act and dance like a Bollywood star in their own music video. And Mukti who is a big fan of the Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit, got selected in the audition and bagged the lifetime opportunity to re-enact her famous song ‘Hum Ko Aaj Kal Hai’ from the Bollywood movie Sailaab. “I was facing the camera for the very first time, so I was extremely nervous. Not only this, Saroj Khan was helping me getting my moves right. So got super-nervous,” adds Mukti. But luckily things fell in place. “Before we started, I told Sarojji that she has all the liberty in the world, to get the best out of me,” says she. And it looks like Mukti did put her best foot forward, as the legendary choreographer was all praises for her. “She was happy with my performance. In fact, she said I have the potential to make it big in Bollywood,” beams Mukti. And Tellychakkar.com must say that Saroj Khan can surely spot talent as Mukti’s Bollywood journey has started. She recently performed a dance number in Bollywood flick Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. “I would just love to be a Bollywood actress. And I don’t think I am the only one.
