MUMBAI: With his talent and hard work, Ronit Bose Roy has carved a niche for himself in showbiz. He has worked in television shows, films, and also web series.
The handsome actor, after a gap of more than two years, is back on the small screen and his fans can’t keep calm.
The actor, who was recently in Delhi, says that TV roles got repetitive for him and he didn’t want to be trapped in doing mediocre roles. He told TOI, “Before Swaran Ghar, the last TV show I did was Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki , which was in 2019. It had been over a two-year break from TV for me. I decided not to do TV because it stops you from doing any other work. In my case, I was able to do films and web shows, but the TV shows I was getting, were very repetitive and it started getting more and more mediocre. I felt that I was going in a different direction from where my work was going. As an actor, you grow, and so you want your work to reflect that – you want your work to grow quality wise, which I felt was not happening back then on TV.”
Further, he revealed why he took up Swarn Ghar. “I just needed some meaty roles. When Swarn Ghar was offered to me, I was brought in for the first 25 days of shoot. It was a very well-defined role. I have done some very dark roles in films like Kaabil and Ugly, so this one was like a breather to me. I haven’t played a character like this in a very long time. Actually, I don’t remember playing a character like this ever. So, there was that greed to explore this character that I am playing in the show, and hence, I returned to TV,” he shared.
