MUMBAI: Param Singh is a handsome man in every sense of the word. His charming looks and crooked smile have stolen the hearts of many. Popularly known for his roles in Sadda Haq and Ghulaam, he is now seen playing the lead in Zee TV’s new sci-fi show Haiwan (Balaji Telefilms).
He was initially sceptical about being a part of Haiwan. He shared, 'First, when I was offered this show, I thought I would give it a pass. But, later when I heard the narration, I gave brief thought to it. Also, I considered the facts that it will be my first sci-fi show produced by Balaji Telefilms and that too on Zee TV.'
In the show, he plays a casanova. Is he the same in real life? 'No, I am not. In the show, I am alcoholic as well but not in my actual life. The character has a lot of layers, which will open up with each passing episode. As an actor, I have a lot of scope to play with my character.'
It it a conscious decision to try something new each time? 'Yes, I want to set a benchmark and I don’t want to do the same thing. My character in Haiwan also happens to be very different from my previous projects.'
From Sadda Haq to now, what changes do he see in himself as an actor? 'Well, viewers and fans can answer this question. I really don’t know if I have changed as a person. But yes, I have become very comfortable in any scene as I have possibly shot all kind of scenes in Sadda Haq, which had a good run of 700 episodes.'
Is his ultimate goal to be in Bollywood? 'My ultimate goal is to be the best. Character matters to me not medium. I am a spontaneous guy and don’t plan in advance. I like to be in the moment.'
Good luck, Param!
