Kolkata: Zee Bangla’s Saat Bhai Champa is sure to garner more interest from its viewers soon. The fantasy soap, produced by Surinder Films, will feature a track revolving around a mermaid. Nayana Bandyopadhyay, who plays the role of Rani Maya in the series, will play the mermaid.
So, how will the story unfold? Nayana shared some information exclusively with TellyChakkar: ‘It is Rani Maya’s background story. She is a mermaid princess who had fallen in love with the human king Mahendra. She left her sea life and became human to be with her love. Now she has to turn back into a mermaid once again. Why? Well, for that you and everyone else have to watch Saat Bhai Champa.’
How was it to dress up like a mermaid? ‘It feels awesome dressing up as a mermaid... I am just loving it,’ said the actress excitedly.
Asked about her favourite mermaid story and film, Nayana said, ‘I have always been a fan of fantasy and magical tales. Even today, Enid Blyton is one of my favourites. My all-time favorite mermaid story is Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. My favourite mermaid film is Disney’s The Little Mermaid as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.’
