New faces to play leads in Karol Bagh

Sunshine Productions will soon launch its tentatively titled Yahan pe sapne baste hai…Karol Bagh on Zee TV. Set against the backdrop of Delhi it is the story about Delhi-ites and their lives in the city of Delhi. The show has multiple leads and actress Hunar Ali and new face Wasim Shaikh will be seen playing key roles. RJ Smriti who was earlier with Red FM will also make her debut as an actress. Informs our source, “There will be many faces on the show who will play the leads and Hunar Ali and Wasim Shaikh are two of them. The shooting of the show is currently taking place in Delhi. Expensive sets have been erected for the show and the channel is leaving no stone unturned to make it successful.” “Apparently Wasim was working with Zee from where he was picked up to act in the show. The cast is relatively new where few of them are local theater artists and from the modeling industry. RJ Smriti too will play one of the leads,” adds our source. Karol Bagh is tipped to replace Creative Eye’s Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann which incidentally will breathe its last on 13 August, 2009. Producer Sudhir Sharma refused to comment anything and directed us to speak to the channel. We sent a text message to Ajay Bhalwankar, Zee TV Programming Head, but he didn’t revert.
