It wasn’t exactly a ‘boy met girl’ and they ‘fell in love’ kind of a love story for Nupur Joshi and her husband Major Sunil Pundir.
Well, in their case it was the army man who fell for the actress.
Let’s hear this love tale from the lady who tied the knot on 17 November 2013, but is still waiting for a proposal…
“I always wanted to marry an army man and I once happened to reveal my desire to a friend of mine. And that’s when my friend insisted on me meeting his army friend Sunil, who is now my husband (smiles). So we started chatting as he was posted in Uttarakhand then. During our chatting sessions, we decided on meeting. I was busy shooting for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani at that point of time. We met first on 19 November 2012. We did not have a plan in place but we knew that we just had a day to know each other as he had to get back. But when we met, everything went beautiful. It seemed like it was all planned. I was actually living a fairytale,” says the actress and pauses for a while which gives you a feel that probably she is trying to re-live that moment in her mind.
So when did he propose you? “Now that’s something that I reminded him a few days ago. You’d laugh but he hasn’t proposed to me yet. I think we did not even realise that a proposal was needed then. But I think I am waiting for a grand one now,” confesses she with a giggle that follows.
Wasn’t there any drama back home? “My parents are pretty chilled out, so there wasn’t anything like seen in cinema (laughs). However, Sunil had to meet my parents all alone as I was busy with my shoot. So he put forth the proposal and got me in hand,” says the actress with a sweet smile.
Work did take a backseat with Nupur shifting to Manipur with her husband. “My husband is currently the ADC of the Governor of Manipur; so we are staying here. Hence, flying from Mumbai to Manipur wasn’t something that I could do all the while. But now I am looking at some good work. I have just shot for an episodic of Savdhan India but it’s been a while since I shot for a daily soap. My last show was Do Hanso Ka Joda (the actress has earlier been a part of Khushi, Jasoos Vijay, Kumkum and Rakhi). But I am ready for good work now.”
We think this is one adorable love story!!
