Alka Kaushal is definitely one well known name on the small screen. Mostly known for her negative roles, the veteran actress is currently essaying the role of the grandmother of Ragini (Tejaswi Prakash) in the Colors show, Swaragini.
The talented lady is portraying the character of Parvati Gadodia, who is a traditional, strict Marwari woman.
Speaking about the characters on television, Alka said, “Gradually the characters on television are changing, even the homemaker moms are now shown to be really strong. And I personally believe that the idea of independence should be associated with mental strength rather than anything else.”
“I believe that the changing scenario in the society should be aptly represented by television. Nowadays television is a strong medium and as a strong medium television has a huge responsibility to encourage women,” added Alka.
Speaking about the show, she mentioned, “This serial will portray many strong women characters and will narrate a beautiful story with a little mix of entertainment masala. The daily will be a perfect blend of modernity and traditionalism.”
On the experience of working with young talents, the seasoned actress replied, “They are not only hardworking but also have a refreshing spontaneity which is amazing. Especially they take a note of what we are saying.”
Though Alka might be playing a strict grandmother in the daily, in real life she a liberal mother, who believes in giving all the freedom to her daughter. But she mentioned that though she is not strict with her daughter, she teaches her to be disciplined.
