MUMBAI: We are proud to announce that Indian Television is bringing the 15th edition of our annual Indian Telly Technical Trade and Programming Awards, which recognize the best in television production, editing, writing, direction, distribution, and creation.
TellyChakkar got in touch with talented writer Bhavya Vyas, who has penned famous shows like Siya Ke Ram, Kaala Teeka, and Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and is currently keeping viewers hooked with her writing for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Mariam Khan on Star Plus.
There is no doubt that Bhavna was born to write and narrate some wonderful stories.
In a brief chat with us, Bhavna spoke about how good writing is important for any project.
She shared, ‘The script is the starting point. If it's not in place, everything else gets affected. What more can be said about its importance.’
Do think originality is dying in the industry? ‘Currently, in a minimum of 20 serials, Diwali will be shown being celebrated, but each will have a different play out, different drama, and different character takes. Originality is not dying; it is just getting trickier and tougher.’
What kind of struggle do you face while writing? ‘There are countless struggles. From creating a bank of episodes to production issues, it is getting tougher. Nowadays, personally, the idea of “unique visuals” in every single episode is draining.’
It is a thankless job according to you? ‘If you really love writing and your team loves and respects you, then it's definitely not. Otherwise, it can feel thankless.’
Indian Telly Technical Awards felicitate the heroes who work hard behind the camera to make a show successful. Do these awards motivate you? ‘That's really amazing. People behind the camera give their blood and sweat just like actors do. Unsung heroes deserve appreciation too.’
Keep up the good work, Bhavna!
