Actress Piyali Basu, known for serials like Amar Durga and Bedeni Moluyar Kwatha, is happy to be part of Aakash Aath's Ek Masher Golpo again!
Readers, the story to be featured this month is Haar Mana Haar, based on the novel Mahasweta by Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay.
In Haar Mana Haar, Piyali is essaying the female lead role, Nira, who lost her parents in early childhood and was brought up by her uncle and aunt. Nira is an economically poor girl and is tortured by her cousin brothers.
Giving a brief account of her character in the serial, she shared with Tellychakkar.com, “I am playing Nira. She is economically poor but her economic condition is not her weakness. She considers it as her pride and studies hard to establish herself.”
“She believes that tears are expensive and one should drop them only during the right times and for the right people. Nira had last shed her tears when her mother had died. She is a strong character who loves herself,” she added.
Piyali has worked in many Ek Masher Golpo series including Basanta Bilap and Meghe Dhaka Tara.
So, when asked how it feels to be back in the series, she quipped, “It feels nice to be part of Ek Masher Golpo series. So far, I have acted in three stories and this one is my fourth story.”
“I am not facing any difficulty in playing Nira as I find similarity with the character. Her thoughts and my thoughts are somewhere similar,” she added.

Sougata Sarkar’s character Binoda and Nira will have a love angle.
The other actors to play pivotal roles here include Samirranjan Biswas, Senjuti Sengupta, Sharbari Mukherjee and others.
Directed by Shibangshu Bhattacharjee, it will start from 1 September, 7 pm.
