MUMBAI: From learning a different language to learning different crafts, an actor lives multiple lives in a lifetime, trying to essay different characters. But there are actors like Pranali, who have not just learnt, but mastered the art of performing Kartab in a span of single day for her upcoming show, Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye on Sony TV.
Set in 1947, Lahore, pre-partition India, Kyun Uthe Dil Chod Aaye narrates the story of three young girls - Amrit, Vashma and Radha. This story brings forth their dreams, hope, aspirations and new found love... all this at the brink of Independence. Word has it that Pranali who essays the role of Radha, mastered the art of performing Kartab in just 16 hours! She not just performed them, but kept practising for 16 hours straight and she became pro at it after 16 hours of tough lessons. An art that takes years for people to master, she took it on herself to make her character look realistic.
Talking about the same she said “The art of performing Kartab is not just fancy, but a really tough task. It is very difficult to master each and every technique for performing different stunts. I got an opportunity to learn this fascinating art through my character Radha in Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. And to master it within a day was even more difficult. But that’s just me as a person, I put my blood and sweat into something until I’ve mastered it and it took me 16 hours to perfect the art of performing Kartab. I guess this is one of the privileges of being an actor, you get to live the lives of different people in a single lifetime”
Moreover, i would like to thank the producers of my show for their constant support, encouragement and believing in me for Radha's part. They have been a backbone to my character in the show and i love working with them.
Though they did not know what’s coming their way, the three girls will try to pave their way. Knowing that tomorrow will be different, the three girls will set out to conquer love and will stand the test of time across borders.
Watch Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye, from 25th January, Monday to Friday at 9 PM, only on Sony Entertainment Television.
