Prashant leaves Zee to join Star

Prashant Chawla who plays Mahesh Gheewala in Zee’s Teen Bahuraaniyan has quit the show and is now been replaced by Abhay Vakil. Prashant says, “I have got an offer to play a lead in one of the upcoming shows on Star Plus and as per the contract I can’t work on any other show or channel. Everything was sorted out amicably with the producers of the show and Zee. This was a better opportunity and so I grabbed it. I will be entering the show in the 10th episode.”

The show which is produced by Endemol was earlier supposed to air from 15th of April, which was later postponed to 30th April and now is expected to come on air from the second week of May.” “The serial is not a regular saas-bahu drama but is a youth-centric show which would cater to all age-groups,” adds the source. Abhay who has replaced Prashant says, “I have done Palkhi on Zee so I think I have some Zee fans who would want to see me back on the channel and so I am not afraid of the drawbacks of being a replacement.” The actor claims to be choosy about the projects he takes up and just doesn’t settle down with anything that comes his way. Abhay’s entry will be aired on Monday, 14th April, 2008.
