Preeti Amin aka Surili quits Lapataganj

The audiences of Garima Productions’ Lapataganj on SAB TV haven’t seen Surili onscreen off late. Incidentally, there’s a shocking reason behind such a track developing in the show. A source close to the show informs Tellychakkar.com that Preeti Amin, the actress who essays this character has put down her papers and that is why, even in the sitcom her character is shown missing. Tellychakkar.com contacted Preeti Amin about this and she confirmed the same, “Yes, I have quit Lapataganj. The reason for this move is that I have been associated with this sitcom for nearly two years now. I wanted to try something different but because of my association with Lapataganj, I missed on a lot of opportunities. So I decided to quit the show and can now take up a new show.” Sucheta Khanna, who essays Indumati in this series, wants her to come back. “I have heard that she is no more part of our show. But I just hope that she comes back because Surili is one of the important characters in the series.” Sources also inform Tellychakkar.com that another actress might step into the shoes of Preeti Amin, but the final decision will be taken when producer Ashwini Dheer, who is out of town, comes back.
