MUMBAI: Pyaar Ka Pehla Adhyaya Shiv Shakti actor Prince Dhiman is a big pet lover. His pet dog, Buddy, is a very important part of his life.
Sharing his affection for the golden retriever, Prince says,” He is my buddy and my best friend. I got him two years back. There was no plan to have a pet, but I was going somewhere and saw a pet store. I don't know what came into my mind, but I went into the store, and there he was - a cute little ball of fluff with small legs. Now he has grown into a big, energetic dog, almost like a monster! Somebody had bought him and left him because he was unwell. I took him in and got him treated. Those were critical days for him, but he managed to recover and became healthy.”
He also adds, ”I am lucky to have Buddy in my life. He has been there for me in every situation. I have cried with him, laughed with him. No matter what the situation is, he is always there for me. And sometimes, that's what you need to get back. It's because of him that I have learned to be calm and controlled. I can't choose a favorite time - him being healthy and being his energetic self makes me happy.”
On this International Dogs’ Day one appeal Prince makes is that animal cruelty has to stop. He says, ”Whether it’s our surroundings or anywhere else there have been so many cases of animal abuse, this should be stopped.”
