MUMBAI: Actors in today’s world of evolved Television works very hard. An actor gives almost 12 hours daily for the shoot, adding to the difficulties is the commuting issues as the sets are mostly located at the outskirts and travelling in peak hours becomes problematic. After being extremely dedicated and passionate about the craft, many actors face non-payment issues by the production houses.
TellyChakkar’s report about non-payment issue last year seemed to have helped the actors as after the article, production house apparently immediately cleared the dues of the actors and crew members. ( Read the article here: Ishq Subhan Allah actors facing payment issues? )
Also, as per reports, the crew of Chhoti Sardarni on Colors’ are facing the same issue.
We have yet another actress coming out in open to talk about this issue. Shivani Gosain who was last seen in Star Plus’ Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum took to social media to express her thoughts about non-payment issues.
She wrote:
“When a show claims to be number one on a popular channel and they are not paying payments even after crossing committed time. But they are available for casting calls, celebration...shooting related requirements.
when they needed you, they were available 24×7 but when their payment time comes, they are never reachable.
they fool good decent and senior artists with false promises and then behave Ignorant.
one can have patience till certain limits... and when that limit crosses.... what action we should take?
I know Artist can go to Cintaa and then have to fight through Cintaa finally but till when one can have patience for such unethical things in our industry?
just wondering till when we all are going to tolerate all this...
I am lucky that I have worked with few fantastic production houses and have wonderful experiences... but feel sad for people who all unfortunately not got a chance to work with good professionals and for them such unprofessional are setting such low standards of our industry...
why we still not able to have a standard deal between production houses and workers? Why they are allowed to delay payments for months? they should pay late payment interest on our money, right? Why only one-sided contract/conditions?”
Shivani’s post had one of producer Zama Habib commenting. Have a look at the comment.

We can only hope and pray that the cast and crew get their hard earned money.
