From Pulling Legs to Dropping Truth Bombs: The Directors Kut Production Roundtable Everyone’s Talking About!

Truth Bombs

MUMBAI: Directors Kut Production has unveiled a unique platform for unfiltered, heartfelt conversations with TV Actors Roundtable 2024, now streaming on YouTube. Conceptualized, written, and directed by the ever-talented Ishika Shahi and brought to life by visionary producer Rajan Shahi, this roundtable features six of the industry’s most celebrated stars—Shaheer Sheikh, Gaurav Khanna, Mohsin Khan, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Rohit Purohit, and Jay Soni—sharing their stories, experiences, and unmissable insights.

In one of the most fascinating segments, the actors share what influences their decisions when it comes to choosing roles across platforms and genres. Their answers are as varied and compelling as their careers:

- Gaurav Khanna  and Rohit Purohit passionately declare, “The story is the king." That’s their first priority, followed by the producer and then co-actors.

- Dheeraj Dhoopar takes a broad perspective, explaining, For him, it’s about the character. The medium cannot define an actor. He has never chosen a project based on whether it’s TV, OTT, or film.

- Shaheer Sheikh, in his signature humble style, shares, he's been very lucky with the opportunities he's received. He has always gone with the flow, and it’s worked out for him.

- Mohsin Khan trusts his gut, saying, It’s all about the gut instinct and the enthusiasm he sees in the maker to bring the story to life.

- Jay Soni emphasizes versatility. It’s about how he can perform characters in a new way, keeping them fresh for the audience who’ve been watching similar characters for years.

Beyond professional choices, the roundtable dives deep into the stars’ personal connections to their craft. They reflect on their favorite characters, those that are closest to their hearts, and how these roles have shaped them as performers. Whether it’s Shaheer’s iconic Arjun from Mahabharata and Dev from Kuch Rang Pyaar ke Aise bhi, Mohsin’s beloved Kartik, Rohit's character of Armaan each actor brings something unique to the table.

The roundtable was pure fun—packed with laughter, playful banter, and personal anecdotes as the stars pulled each other’s legs and shared never-heard-before stories with humor and honesty. Between the jokes, there were moments of agreement on industry truths, making it a treat for fans to watch their camaraderie shine.

And if Part 1 had you hooked, Part 2 is set to take it up a notch! Dropping this Sunday at 4 PM on Directors Kut Production’s YouTube channel, it promises juicy insights—like their views on wife jokes, the most romantic gestures they've made, and more untold stories.  With Ishika Shahi's sharp direction and Rajan Shahi's innovative production, this fresh and binge-worthy format gives an authentic peek into the lives of TV’s biggest stars.
