Rahul Sharma: I don’t think TV viewership will get affected by the advent of the web

MUMBAI: It is the time of the web with so many different platforms and different kinds of shows, however, this will not affect TV viewership, says actor Rahul Sharma. “Acting is the same in all kinds of platforms but the way of doing it is very different. If we talk about theatre, different kinds of audience will approach you in that particular scenario. You have to be very sharp and attentive towards your lines, voice… everything that you are doing on stage. TV is a little bit dramatic, how you hold your expressions. In films and OTT, you have to be very natural and connect with the audience. The major thing is to depend upon what kind of audience,” he says, adding, “I am part of the entertainment industry and hopefully will be doing good series soon. I haven’t got an offer as yet though. I don’t think television will be so affected or that people will not get work, with the advent of the web. if I am talented enough, I will get work. Right now, I am focused on getting a good concept, be it on television or the web. As an actor, we have this freedom that we can explore and do whatever we want.”

Meanwhile, the actor has been very satisfied with how his journey has shaped up and says that he has always derived inspiration from his father. “My father has been my inspiration. He has taught me that hard work can beat anything, even luck. Luck will only favour you when you will work hard and when you will be focused on your work. My father has achieved so much due to his hard work. He has taught me to work hard, be dedicated to work and how to balance life.
