The teenager from suburban Mumbai who ranked immediately after Abhijeet Sawant and Amit Sana in the Indian Idol rankings this March, now wants to promote himself as a 'looker' as well. "The way to woo women is to have a well toned physique," quips the guy who took a drop from his twelfth standard board exams this year to get the Idols his best shot.
Rahul Vaidya is going in for an image makeover. He's now enrolled with a gym in Andheri, where he's sweating it out for 'that' look to get women drooling over him. While academics will have to wait another year, he is getting into learning computer software that will equip him for the future when he starts making his own tracks. For this Indian idol boy Indian idol was all about getting fame in a short time with of course a lot of hard work. He is now readying to come out with a Sony BMG music video to be directed by Rahul Sood, which, Rahul claims, will have a new split screen concept. While he prefers being tight lipped on talks about his rumoured close friendship with fellow Idol finalist Prajakta Shukre, Rahul has gone Bollywood with a song for Shaadi number1, Kisko Pyar Karun, Jigyasa-the ambition, Hot Money. All this after having sung for Sony's Kaisa yeh pyar hai, in April this year. Rehearsing for stage shows and preparing for road shows that promote Indian Idol part 2 is what is keeping him busy these days. Rahul, incidentally, will be the only Indian Idol contestant who will perform for nine days non-stop during the forthcoming Navratri, he claims. With a Marathi album on Ganesh, 'He ganapati' already doing well on the charts, Rahul seems to be poised for a bright future. Those biceps might just help.
