Raj Loghani (Garv of Piya ka Ghar) hurt his left hand excruciatingly on Thursday, while shooting for a scene he was doing Vineeta Thakur (Isha)in which he was supposed to break a mirror using a paper weight in his hand.
However, the shot went fine and after Raj broke the mirror just as he was supposed to. Second's later blood started to drip from his left hand, and the whole scene was caught on camera.
Raj was immediately admitted to the hospital and operated upon today. An exhausted and drowsy Raj spoke to Telly Chakkar just as he was being discharged from the hospital in Hiranandani. "I have been on a lot of anesthetics and medicines, so my head feels heavy, please don't mind," he adds. "Just after I broke the glass, I was holding the paper weight in my hand and my director Pawan Chauhan called for a cut and shouted for an ambulance. When I looked at my hand I realized how badly it was wounded," he narrates.
"Raj almost killed himself. Everyone asked him not to take the risk of doing the stunt, but he said he'd manage. Ultimately he ended up hurting himself, "says Vineeta, Raj's co- star.
"It's been a bad experience but my crew has been extremely helpful and rushed me to the hospital immediately. I ended up getting sixteen stitches and some more inside on my tissues. The only good thing is that, the wound was merely quarter an inch away from my artery. Had I managed to cut that I'd have been dead right now," he goes on to say, sounding like he would fall asleep right away.
"My mother is here to take care of me. The doctors have said I can open the plasters in three weeks," he continues hopefully.
Raj will be shooting from day after tomorrow onwards. Here's wishing him good luck in the future and a speedy recovery.
