The scorching heat that Mumbai has been experiencing for some time now has claimed its victim in popular actor Rajat Tokas who plays Akbar in Zee TV’s historical magnum opus Jodha Akbar. The show is shot at the sprawling N D Studio in Karjat. Despite the set being air-conditioned, Rajat is required to shoot outdoors for some scenes off and on. While shooting one such scene recently, he started feeling nauseous and bled from the nose. The production crew immediately rushed him to the hospital but while on the way, he also threw up blood. The actor got a thorough check-up done in the Seven Hills Hospital and it was detected that he had just had a heat stroke.
Zee TV Programming Head - Namit Sharma said, ‘We take utmost care to ensure that actors are not exposed to undue heat or any other discomfort while shooting and the sets are centrally air-conditioned. However, in this instance, Rajat was required to shoot outdoors for one scene and it’s unfortunate that he suffered a stroke. He was immediately rushed for medical help and it’s touching to see his dedication in getting back on the sets and resuming shoot, even though, he’s been advised rest!’.
So Here’s wishing television’s favourite Akbar a speedy recovery!
