Rakhi Sawant wants to "play a bahu with a radical approach"

Rakhi Sawant, who started as an item girl has got famous, courtesy her participation in various reality shows starting from Bigg Boss season 1, to Nach Baliye 3 and Rakhi Ka Insaaf. The ‘controversy queen’ now wants to try her hands at fiction shows. Says Rakhi, “I have already done films, non-fiction shows but never a daily soap. I can play a glamorous or a non-glam one depending on the channel as they are the ones who call the shots.” She goes on, “I have always done something different on TV; I have got married on the idiot box with Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, tried my hands at rearing a child in Pati Patni Aur Who. So you can be assured to have a bahu who will be radical.” When asked about her thoughts on an Indian bahu, Rakhi avers, “A girl before marriage needs to listen to her parents, and post marriage of her in-laws. If she is a working woman, she has to successfully juggle between work and family as her husband will not chip in with the household chores.” On the kind of wife Rakhi would be, she says, “A fiercely independent woman who loves her husband and family.” Rakhi who had contemplated producing a show on Jesus Christ says, “I have shelved the idea as of now.” Rakhi tells us that she is waiting for a big production house to launch her in a fiction show. Lastly, Rakhi names the iconic bahus of television, “Smriti Irani (Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) and Sakshi Tanwar (Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain) are iconic names. But Smriti has now moved into politics, so the floor is open for me.”
