Ranvir, Vinay aur….. Boman

Letting famed VJs and comic actors Ranvir Shourie and Vinay Pathak cut loose is a dangerous proposition. Especially, if you're visiting their new bachelor home on Star One. We are citing at the funny duo's latest interview based weekly sitcom, Ranvir Vinay Aur Kaun? which will kick off from 6th Aug at 10pm.

The format of this amusing alternative to a conventional Q-n-A show is a combination of a t?te-?-t?te with a new celebrity, comic acts and Ranvir, Vinay Aur Kaun? In a press meet held yesterday, Ranvir and Vinay were seen entertaining their new guest on the show, none other than the ace comic, Boman Irani himself…and the latter did feel homely in the company of these hilarious men. Summing his experience on RVK (Ranvir, Vinay Aur Kaun?), Boman says, "I've been on many talk shows but here it was truly like visiting your friend's house. I didn't have to adhere to any format or script. It was just like three good friends getting together for a cup of tea. But they made me sit on this third class sofa!" Fun apart, the two hosts peppered some intellectual questions on the actor. Boman spoke at lengths about his witty character, Kishen Khurana, in the 2006 comic caper Khosla Ka Ghosla (which apparently also featured Ranvir and Vinay). Irani enunciated that playing Khurana, a Delhiite, was difficult because prior to this film, he'd never acted in the capital. Plus, him being a Parsi and little weak on his Delhi-style-Hindi, it took him some days to get into the groove. As matter of fact, Boman disclosed that he wasn't the first choice for the role. Seemingly, his secretary in the film, (Mr.Gunjaal) was the first to audition for Khurana. Thankfully, common sense prevailed and both actors fitted in their characters perfectly. Pulling one's leg is a common trait in friendship. Well, the friendly hosts certainly didn't miss this point as they revealed to the world how carnivorous Boman is. Veggie Vinay Pathak had this to say, "maine apni zindagai main Bomanji jaisa masahari vyakti nahi dekha (I've never seen a more hardcore non-vegetarian than Boman)." Vinay added that during the shoot of Khosla…., Boman and Ranvir thronged the streets of Delhi at 1am just to feast on meat. Ranvir interrupted his co host and chided him saying, do they appear as carnivorous animals? Well, that's not all the duo had to say about their guest Boman. They thanked him for gracing their show, "We became great friends whilst shooting for Khosla….. This bonding was evident in this show too. The three of us simply have a blast when together," mentioned Ranvir. On a parting note, Boman expressed his sympathies to his good friend Sanjay Dutt, who awaits his judgment in the 1993 Mumbai blast case. The actor felt that things were stretching far too much and Sanjay himself wanted an end to it once and for all. Finally, Boman paid his respects to the 'Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. "I've always admired that man. However, it pains me that he is a more respected figure abroad than in our country. This really is a shame." Well, if only the courts would have allowed our Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) to go free, Gandhigiri would have regained momentum again. And, of course, Ranvir and Vinay would have had the man himself on their show.
