Rashmi Desai contemplating to quit Uttaran…again?

Rashmi Desai
Is Rashmi Desai Sandhu planning to quit Colors’ Uttaran (FilmFarm India)? Well, we can’t say with certainty but her recent tweet did raise some suspicion. The status read: “Overwhelming response from you all on how much you want to see me in a new TV show. Yours prayers and requests to the channel will work!” Aha…some cloud is indeed forming inside Rashmi’s head. To get more clarity, we buzzed her. Said the lovely and amazingly stunning lady: “Every actor wants to move on and if I get something interesting, I will take it up. My fans also want to see me in some new avatar. However for the moment I am very happy being a part of the above four year hit show.” Does that mean she will quit Uttaran on getting a better offer, “Maybe the channel will allow me to do the same. I don’t know for I have not yet spoken to them about the same,” adds Rashmi. We then quizzed her about her absence from Uttaran in recent tracks and she explains, “I took a sabbatical because my hubby (Nandish) was unwell and there were other personal reasons. I must thank the creative team for giving me this chance to take a necessary break.” About her return she quips, “I can’t give a date but yes very soon. The unit guys keep asking me when I will be back on the sets.” Rashmi has thoroughly enjoyed her four year stint with this FilmFarm unit. “Kudos to them for giving justice to continuously increasing number of characters. It’s been great to play my role of Tapasya as it always brings something new to the table.” Looking ahead she would want to try her hands at youth based shows something like the old Zee TV school show Hip Hip Hurray which both kids and elders enjoyed watching. “I would also want to try out mature themes like Sailaab et al.” She also would not mind to return to films. She began with Bhojpuri flicks before coming to TV with Pari Hoon Main. “Who would not want to do films?” avers the actress. For your information, Rashmi quit Uttaran once before and later got back.
