MUMBAI: The day as began with sad news as Senior actor Arvind Trivedi who essayed the role of “Ravan” in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday night. According to reports in the media, the veteran actor was not keeping well for quite some time and passed away after suffering a heart attack and multiple organ failure. His last rites will happen in Mumbai on Wednesday morning. He was 82 years old.
Arvind is known for his character of “Ravan” and has also been part of many Gujrati films which lasted for over 40 years. He was also a part of the Tv show Vikram Aur Betaal.
The senior actor as also been part of 300 movies including Hindi and Gujrati. Arvind as also done several social and mythological films as well.
Apart from being a successful actor he was also a Member of Parliament from 1991 to 1996. He was selected from Sabarkatha constituency. He is also the acting chairman of the Censor Board for Film Certification (CBFC) following the resignation of filmmaker Vijay Anand from the post.
The senior actor also made his debut on the microblogging site after his former 'Ramayan' co-stars Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhila made their Twitter accounts.
Last year, during the lockdown the cult television series “Ramayan” was telecasted and the audience once again gave love to the serial.
