Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar make an Amazon debut on OTT

Amazon debut on OTT

This one is sure to excite many a young TV viewer. It’s got cricket, its got sex. It’s got drama. It’s got corruption and politics. And it’s making its debut on 10 July on Amazon Prime Video. Earlier today,  the first look trailer of the show Inside Edge was released by Amazon which it had commissioned to Ritesh Sidhwani’s and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. Karan Anshuman has been given the credits as a creator.

Inside Edge is clearly set in the glamorous and big money world of cricket with all its lucre and temptations. And the trailer has it all: shots of a blonde and a scantily clad cricketer caught in a clinch, having a go at each other apparently and grunting through the sexual act, a cricketer clad in blue going out towards the pitch in a stadium, a girl swinging away in a night club, and a bottle being broken on someone’s skull, notes being counted, a girl blowing smoke, and sixes being hit and a girl striking out with a bat in the dressing room.

And then there’s of course the tag line: “Witness the Game, Behind the Game.”

An indicator of what viewers can expect: wheels within wheels, subplots  and plots within plots.

All we can say is it’s quite a phenomenal way for Farhan and Ritesh to make their debut in the digital content world. Remember they have been behind films such as Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Rock On, Dil Dhadakne Do and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Way to go Farhan and Riteish.
