MUMBAI: We live in a world where live-in relationships are preferred over tying the knot. However, according to a statistic released recently, there will be around 48 lakh marriages in India in the next 60 days. Actor Romiit Raaj says that this is unbelievable and pretty great.

“I mean, 48 Lakh marriages is so good, in a time when most people in metro cities also believe in live-in relationships. I guess it could not have been higher. It's also great to know so many people will earn their livelihood thanks to weddings,” he says.

Celebrity marriages are beyond the budget of a middle-class family. But people are still taking inspiration, and going the extra mile. The actor says that one must try to arrange one’s wedding exactly how one wants it to be. “Weddings are to celebrate with your loved ones, share happiest moments and make memories for lifetime, so why not have the works. Simple weddings are also beautiful, to each his own. It’s best to do what your heart says,” he says.

He adds, “Indian Marriages have always been full of endless ceremonies and dress changes. We have so many rituals and occasions so it’s good to see people following that. It’s lovely to see weddings at lavish scale and thanks to advanced photography you capture wonderful memories for a lifetime.”

As for celebrity weddings, he has a few favourites. “For me, the best wedding would be of Virat and Anushka, along with Ranveer and Deepika. Beautiful location and amazing pictures!”
