MUMBAI: Ronit Roy’s last television show was Adaalat, which ended in 2016. Now he will be seen in Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki.
The actor has been roped in to essay the role of lawyer Rajat Singh. His character will fight the case for Saumya (played by Rubina Dilaik), who wants to adopt her sister’s son legally.
On why he said yes to the show, Ronit said to a leading publication, “I have been away from TV, as I am busy with other mediums, including films. My track in Shakti will last for three months, which is why I took it up. Besides, the character is interesting, too. He has his reasons for the way he is and has a dark side.”
When he was further asked by the daily if he was away from television because he was not happy with the offers coming his way, he answered in negative, and added that like every actor he wants to grow and move with times, and that he wouldn’t want to repeat his work, which he did 15 years ago.
