Sachin Parikh rues the lost opportunity of shooting with Amitabh "Big B" Bachchan

Sachin Parikh, who essays the role of Sanjay Vyas in Colors’ Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, is a disappointed man. Why? Well, he missed a golden opportunity of shooting with “the” Amitabh Bachchan for a commercial. The actor who has earlier shot with celebrities like Om Puri, Irrfan Khan and Rani Mukherjee was very much excited to share screen space with the Shahenshah of Bollywood. However, things did not turn out the way he wanted. Sachin Parikh, who has also done shows like Don’t Worry Chachu for SAB TV and Pardes Mein Mila Koi Apna Sa for Imagine TV, is a Gujarati theatre actor who balances well between theatre and television. Talking about his missed opportunity, Sachin shared with Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, it is true that I was shortlisted to shoot with Big B for a commercial. Things were very much final, till the day before. My date was blocked for 8 May (2012) and the money part was also decided. I was so looking forward to this opportunity, but destiny had something else in store. I guess influence plays a major role when it comes to shooting with celebrities, and I got to know that some other actor actually shot for the ad. They did not even give me a proper reason; I was simply asked to release my dates as Big B might not be shooting on the day.” He goes on, “I have done 60-70 ads till date, and have shot with few celebrities too. But when it came to working with Amitabh Bachchan, things did not materialize. After all, the ad world is a mad world and we need to believe the weird reason we are given.” Ask him about the preparations he had made before meeting Big B, and he says, “I am a huge fan of Mr Amitabh. I have his personal number, and send him a birthday wish every year on 11 October. In fact, I had a chat with my wife when I got to know that I was to shoot with him. I wanted my wife to give her message to Big B; I also wanted to talk about my experience of being a father as my daughter is now one year old. With Big B’s granddaughter, Aaradhya, being 6 months old, I had made the mental preparation of talking about kids.” At the end of it, Sachin like any other optimistic person says, “I just hope I get a similar chance again.” Well, better luck next time, Sachin…
