Sahara One's creative crisis; Piya Ka Ghar airs its end track; channel asks to re-start shooting

Sahara One is facing issues at the creative level, it seems. Why are we saying so? Hear this… We all know that Piya Ka Ghar was supposed to air its final episode yesterday (13 September 2013). And they exactly did that. But guess what? The makers (Entertainment Hub) of the show got a call from the channel saying they need to start shooting again. “Like what? We just aired our last episode ending the show logically” were the thought bubbles in the creatives’ head. But as they say, the show must go on. And thus, Piya Ka Ghar has got an extension and they will again start a new plot in the coming days. So what was the reason for the sudden change of programming lineup? “Well, the show which was supposed to replace Piya Ka Ghar, Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai, did not finish on time to air its first episode. Reason being the set they constructed at Dahisar, Mumbai, could not be completed due to rains. Hence the delay,” said a source. So far so good… but there is another glitch to the story… Piya Ka Ghar’s lead…Leena Jumani is not in India. She shot for her final sequence (oblivious to the last minute developments) and flew out of the country to holiday with friends. And she won’t be around anytime soon. The creatives will now chalk out a track to merely fill out days before Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai get ready to air. We called up actor Raj Singh who plays the role of Bittoo in Piya Ka Ghar and he confirmed that they have been asked to re-start shooting. Later Raj connected with us and shared, "Yes, Piya Ka Ghar has been extended as the Akhir... set is still under constructuion. Thus,Piya will end on 27 September instead of 13 September."
