MUMBAI: Good news for fans of the show ‘May I Come in Madam?’. Season two of the show is on its way and this time too, the producers of the show Binaiferr Kohli and Sanjay Kohli (Edit II Productions), are here to give their audience yet another good show. Sandeep Anand, who plays the lead role of Sajan Agarwal, talks about the new season and more.
“My character is the same as it was in the last season. Just that this time there is more entertainment, laughter, and fun. The USP of the show is its situation, writing, direction, and characters. At the same time, it's a different kind of setup altogether. There is no show that can compete with 'May I come in Madam?' because It's a different kind of an experience,” says the actor, adding that the set has cool vibes.
About dealing with the pressure to deliver, he adds, “Yes, I always feel the pressure when I'm doing something new. And then this is the second season of the show that already has a successful first season. We hope that people like the second season as well. There is a lot of pressure on us because when you do something well, people expect more from you. It's very challenging to make people laugh with jokes every time. But I am always committed to my craft, and I will definitely try hard to make people love it.”
Binaiferr and Sanjay are not just producers for Sandeep, they're like an extended family to him. “They have looked after me since I came to Mumbai. I've had disagreements with them, they've scolded me sometimes, but they've been very kind to me in every phase of my life and have supported me a lot. They've given me such compelling characters to portray on Indian television screens, and they've created excellent shows for Indian television. Sanjay Ji handles all the creative aspects, while the financial part is managed jointly by both of them,” he shares.
Speaking in his inspiration behind being an actor, who enjoys playing comic characters, she says, “Every sad face of this world is my inspiration to do comedy. I want to put a smile on every single face of the world because I know there is so much pain in the world. If I can make someone laugh, that's the best thing I can do till I am alive.”
Many comedy shows have double-meaning jokes. “Double meaning, single meaning, slapstick, subtle, and situational comedy are all genres within the world of humor. It all depends on how one presents, represents, and performs it onscreen, as well as how it's delivered. Whether it's double meaning or single meaning if the actor is doing comedy and people aren't laughing, it's not worthwhile. But, if it's intended to bring a smile or a laughter, regardless of whether it's double meaning or single meaning, and it achieves that, then it's a success,” he explains.
