MUMBAI: Zee TV, a channel celebrated for its rich repertoire of successful shows like Kumkum Bhagya, Kundali Bhagya, Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi, Bhagya Lakshmi, Rabb Se Hai Dua, Vasudha, Jagriti – Ek Nayi Subah, and the much-loved reality singing show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, is all set to expand its prime-time slate.

In the pipeline is a brand-new show titled ‘Saru’, which will be produced by the acclaimed banner Shashi Sumeet Productions.
Known for delivering heart-warming and socially resonant stories, the production house has previously impressed audiences with hits such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed, Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai, Shubhaarambh, Barrister Babu, and Tera Yaar Hoon Main.
Touted as a compelling drama, Saru will feature Shagun Pandey and Mohak Matkar in lead roles. Both actors have made significant impressions with their past performances and are expected to bring fresh energy to the small screen.
In an exclusive interview Tellychakkar, Shagun Pandey revealed about the efforts he put into the character he is playing in the show and everything that he had to learn, especially English.
Shagun Pandey said, “English hai, professor hai, toh bilkul mahaul badal raha tha. Ab yahan pe police saff se interact nahi, balki students se interact karna tha toh apne upar thoda sa kaam kiya hai, homework kiya hai, English pe kaam kiya hai, aisa na ho ki TV ka ek scene lage, aisa lage ki jo bhi thode bohot padhane ke scenes hai usme information jaaye toh I’ve also written what to teach, how much to teach, jo mujhe lagta hai ki Bharat ki basic core audience, jaise Zee masses ko cater bhi karta hai toh unke through basic ‘tenses’ toh pohocha hi dunga aur toh dheere dheere baatein karunga unki, metophors ki karunga, personification ki karunga, aisi bohot saari cheezein hai jo mujhe lagta hai ki unke saath share karni chahiye kyuki mere jaise bohot log hai jinko English nahi aati aur ek mol uska bhi chukana hai ki maa-baap ne convent school se padhaya toh shayad ab dekhenge ki kitna padha hai yeh...”
he added, “...Jab aap scene mein dekhenge, toh woh ek sophisticated-ness, woh baccho se baat karne ka woh unko convey karne ka tareeka, ya unko samjhane ka tareeka, jitni bhi English ka literature hai woh batane ka tareeka, uske examples dene ka tareeka, inn sab pe kaam kar ke aaya hoon, bohot logo se madat li hai...”
