MUMBAI: Zee TV is all set to bring a new fiction offering, Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan. It is a mature romance based in modern-day Vrindavan. The show will take us on the intriguing journey of Mohan, who was once a charmer, someone who would play the flute and have everyone swooning around him. But he has somehow lost that spark and spunk along the way. He has turned into an intense, brooding man with sorrow in his eyes. In fact, Mohan carries an invisible wall around him and doesn’t let anyone in. The only person he is attached to is his mother, whom he loves. Essaying the role of this intense character will be none other than popular TV superstar Shabir Ahluwalia. He was last seen in Zee TV’s longest-running, top-rated show, Kumkum Bhagya. He will be paired opposite Neeharika Roy, who was seen in shows like Tera Yaar Hoon Main and Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap.
The actress is excited about this new project. Read on to know what she had to say.
Tell us something about the storyline.
Basically the story is about Radha, who lost her mother of the age of five to six, so it was very difficult to handle her. So, Mohan had given her the Bhagwad so that the book can be her guide to show her the correct path. She believes that Mohan is also her God. Radha is a true believer and a devoted lover, so whenever I shoot, I keep Lord Krishna’s Mira bai in mind to perform my best. I learn new things as per the script. Radha just wants to keep Mohan happy.
What preparations are you doing for this role?
Well, I am very excited to begin the show. I always read my scripts before and during the shoot. This character is completely new for me. She is bubbly, innocent, and young, and she loves kids. She is bindass and often gets scolded by her grandmother. I really wanted to bag this role during the look test and audition round. I was given a character briefing too. There are many variations in the role of a villager girl, but this character has all sorts of freedom. She loves all and jokes around with everyone. For preparation, I was asked to watch a lot of old films.
Tell us your experience of shooting with Shabir Ahluwalia.
Initially, I was stunned when I was told to star opposite him as he is a big name in the television industry. I have seen his shows, I had never dreamt of working with him and was quite nervous. I am fortunate to share a screen with him. He is quite motivating and encouraging. He asks me to enjoy the process, and I feel nice after listening to his words. I am excited about this journey.
