MUMBAI: There is no doubt that producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary is the master of mythological and periodic dramas. Out of all his hit shows, Star Plus’ Mahabharat has been his smashing hit on TV. From beautiful visuals to perfect casting, Siddharth’s Mahabharat has been a treat to viewers.
The show has been a stepping stone for most of the actors. It not only gave them name and fame but also helped to sharpen their mettle in acting. One of the actors who gained immense love from viewers is Shaheer Sheikh. After playing a chocolate boy in Navya, Shaheer bagged the role of Arjuna in Mahabharat.
Hence, we asked the producer Siddharth what made him cast Shaheer in Mahabharat. He told us, “Navya is also my show and at that time I was simultaneously working on Mahabharat. When I was writing the show and developing Arjun’s character I felt that Shaheer will suit best for Arjun’s role. The softness he has in his eyes, the emotion and expression he has that requires Arjun's role. He looked like a warrior and had the personality to depict a mythological character. I had told Shaheer that he will have to grow his hair and build his physique. And he really worked on himself. I had a conviction that he will play Arjun. I believe actors create characters. They are the ones to bring characters to life and Shaheer did a splendid job.”
