Sharad Malhotra and Mohit Malik are popular television actors.

MUMBAI: Star Plus is gearing up for another love story to entertain its audience. And to play the main lead Sharad Malhotra was finalised along with Sana Sayyad. But even before the cameras could roll, a major change occurred and Mohit Malik stepped into Sharad Malhotra’s shoes. The show which is being produced under the banner of Rashmi Sharma Telefilms focuses on a couple's marriage during the lockdown and how their life gets complicated after their parents learn about it.

A source close to the show revealed to a leading entertainment portal, "Sharad Malhotra was the first choice for the character and was almost finalised however things didn't materialise at the last moment due to monetary reasons. After which, Mohit Malik was brought on board and now he will be romancing Sana on the show. The show will begin shooting next month in August.”

Mohit Malik who impressed everyone with his character of Sikandar Singh Gill in 'Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala' last year will be making his comeback with the show whereas Sana Sayyad played Drishti Sharma Shergill on supernatural drama 'Divya Drishti' opposite Adhvik Mahajan.

Coming back to Sharad Malhotra who is among the most popular actors on TV, recently he opened up about his depression phase after he couldn't achieve the desired heights in films. Talking to a leading daily the actor revealed, "After my shows became hits, I was under this notion that I would become the next Shah Rukh Khan. I starred in two films From Sydney with Love and Ek Tera Saath and both were huge flops. I felt like my dreams were shattered. I found it difficult to come to terms with the fact that my films did not work. That was the worst phase of my life because I had already stopped thinking of doing TV shows. For four years, I kept away from everyone. Eventually, I turned towards spirituality, meditated daily and focused on exercising. It took me another two years to muster enough courage and gather confidence to look for work. I finally understood what television had given me and decided to try my luck there and TV welcomed me again.”
