Doordarshan National is soon going to come out with a big budget, multi star studded serial titled Wanted. The show a Shanti films production is going to be produced by S.K. Parashar and Manoj Nautiyal, shall take the director's chair.
Manoj who has directed other DD shows such as Sach and Lekin Woh Sach Tha, as well has had various Ad films of Brands like Dabur and Akai TV in his kitty spoke to Telly Chakkar about the new show. "DD decided to do a big budget show with real grandeur and this concept was come up with. The show is going to be a one hour weekly and since we wanted to pitch it high its going to be in the 10'o clock segment."
The show primarily a work of faction however will have underlying shades of real life incidents of people who were under unforeseen and uncontrolled circumstances labeled as wanted by the law. "Under these circumstances, the show conveys what they do and how they choose to be do-gooders for society and help out in incredible situations. Their incredible steps after the plight they had been through is going to be showcased," adds Nautiyal.
The show will be having high spends and is be shot out of studios as well. Some actors being considered for the star cast include Nirmal Pandey and Shivaji Sattam (of CID). It will have a steady cast of eight to ten actors who will remain throughout the show, other characters in various situations will keep coming on and off. "It's a good concept and we plan to do it in style," says Manoj. Jasoos Vijay is another DD show which was produced by BBC world television and was based on AIDS, had real high budgets and was done really well. Let's see if DD's new novel concept hits a high in the coming future.
