MUMBAI: Rising television actor Shivam Khajuria, who now plays the role of Prem in the hit Star Plus show Anupamaa, recently opened up about how his casting came together, and the emotional resonance the show already had within his family.
“I remember just two days before the first shooting of Anupamaa, I got the call that I was going to be part of the show,” Shivam recalls. “I hadn’t been following the show before, but my family has always been big fans, so I was well aware of the craze and the love people have for it.”
With Anupamaa continuing to top TRP charts and enjoy massive viewership across the country, the show’s legacy is not lost on Shivam. “My favourite characters would be Bapuji and Anupamaa, they bring so much heart to the story,” he adds.
Shivam's character, Prem, is now stepping into a more pivotal role, especially in light of recent story developments that show him evolving from a carefree boy to the emotional backbone of his family. His performance has already begun receiving praise for its depth and maturity.
Known for his previous roles in Mann Sundar, Article 370 to name a few, Shivam Khajuria brings both freshness and emotional gravitas to Anupamaa, promising to be a character audiences will grow even more attached to in the episodes to come.
