MUMBAI: Yukti Kapoor has carved a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. With her hard work, she has made a place for herself in showbiz and also in the hearts of audiences.
She is known for featuring in shows like Maddam Sir and Swarn Swar Bharat. However, the journey has not been easy. She was once told that she can’t ever become a lead actress. In an interview with a leading daily, she opened up about her career.

Yukti Kapoor has come a long way. And despite the challenges, she stuck to her decision of not taking up projects that required her to expose. Talking about her journey and struggle, she shared with TOI, “I was 14 when I bagged a show on Doordarshan. That was easy but the following years were ridden with obstacles. I came to Mumbai seven years ago to pursue a career in acting. During this time, I got offers to play something I wasn’t comfortable doing - exposing. I declined some film projects in which I was required to expose. I want to be part of projects, which can be watched by families together.”
She struggled for two years and faced many a rejection but vowed to keep moving ahead in life. The actress said, “I was told that I was not lead material. I was a bit chubby then. I worked hard on myself. I am glad that I have been able to prove my detractors wrong. I struggled for two years and was all alone in a city like Mumbai. There were times when I felt dejected but I kept at it. I am not a great actor, but I am a quick learner and I am keen on honing my acting skills.”
