MUMBAI: Former actress and popular television personality Shrutika Arjun, known for her work in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, has recently made waves after revealing a harrowing health experience linked to the COVID vaccine.
The actress, who rose to newfound fame through her appearance in Bigg Boss Season 18, has now come forward to share the terrifying ordeal that left both her and her family shaken.
In a candid conversation on Paras Chhabra’s podcast, Shrutika spoke at length about suffering a near-fatal heart attack shortly after receiving the COVID vaccination.
Recalling the traumatic experience, she said, “I’ve been through a normal delivery before and thought I knew pain. But what I endured post-vaccine was worse than childbirth.”

Shrutika’s health took a sudden and severe turn, prompting her husband, Arjun, to remain by her side throughout the crisis. “He kept checking if I was even breathing,” she recalled emotionally. “The next morning, I fainted and felt utterly helpless. I couldn’t speak properly—my jaw had gone crooked, one of the most alarming signs of a heart attack. I just kept chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaya’—it was the only thing that gave me strength.”
Even days after the initial episode, the actress experienced continued symptoms. “Two days later, while watching King Kong with Arjun, I suddenly had severe palpitations out of nowhere. It completely rattled us,” she added.
Despite the severity of the incident, Shrutika remains grateful. “I truly thank God for pulling me through those dark days,” she said, expressing deep appreciation for her recovery and the unwavering support of her husband.
The actress, who became a household name during her Bigg Boss stint and was widely appreciated for her game, was evicted just a week before the finale. Her friendship with fellow contestant Chum Darang also became a highlight of the season, both inside the house and among viewers.
Now, as Shrutika continues on her journey of healing and self-discovery, her story stands as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of health and the power of resilience.
