After throwing brilliant performances week after week, Shyam Yadav – 17 year old Mumbai boy who’s one of the top contenders for the finale of Season 4 of Dance India Dance (Esselvision) had a lot to share when he spoke about his dance guru DID Judge Mudassar Khan. Talking about his journey from being just a dancing attraction at parties to making it big and becoming a part of Dance India Dance, Shyam spoke about his and Mudassar’s friendship even before the two knew that they would one day be a part of DID together.
Making a collage of their pictures, the Dance India Dance team took the two down memory lane. With tears rolling down his eyes, Shyam spoke of how Mudassar has been his biggest support and if it wouldn’t have been for Mudassar teaching him dance and believing in him, then he wouldn’t have ever signed up for the auditions of such a big show. With his forte being hip hop, urban, Bollywood, Mudassar has been Shyam’s guru as he began his dancing journey.
Being a part of Mudassar’s Fire Academy of Dance, Shyam and Mudassar have known each other for years. It was when Mudassar performed for the first time in front of Salman Khan and Prabhu Dheva, that he had Shyam as a part of his troupe, and since then there has been no looking back for the two of them. While ‘Moody’, as Mudassar is fondly referred to by all, soon turned into a top-of-the-line Bollywood choreographer, Shyam got his break now with Dance India Dance Season 4. Getting ample love from other judges and Grandmaster Mithun Da, he is delighted to now be learning various new dance forms as a part of Master Mudassar Ki Mandli.
Talking about his journey on the show, Mithun Da said, “I have been noticing your performances for the past few weeks and it’s incredible the way you have evolved from being a hardcore Bollywood dancer to now trying out various dance forms with as much ease. Earlier it was only Mudassar who would speak about you, but now, everybody I meet outside gives me rave reviews of your dance abilities.”
From performing at events with Mudassar’s troupe to now paving his way to the top in DID 4, Shyam has come a long way. We wish him luck and hope there is no looking back from here!
