Sofia Hayat-Armaan Kohli controversy gets ugly; Sofia decides to boycott Bigg Boss finale

Sofia Hayat shot up in popularity, thanks to her aggressive stint in Bigg Boss (Colors) and post her eviction, her legal tussle with co contestant Armaan Kohli on charges of alleged physical abuse (by Armaan), made her the darling of newspaper headlines. Now the lady, who knows how to stay in the spotlight, has decided not to attend the Bigg Boss finale event, which requires all contestants to be present for the episode. ‘Yes, I'm ditching finale for some ‘me’ time in London and also I'm not going near Armaan. Bigg Boss did not protect me according to my contract so I'm going to break the contract too and not come to the finale. I need to make a stand for what is right,” said Sofia to Tellychakkar.com. “The channel people keep saying I have to come for the finale, but I am leaving for London on 26 December and will be back on 5-6 January as I have film offers to ponder upon. It is normally said that people who participate in Bigg Boss don’t have work, but yes I do have work.” So will she bear the brunt of breaking the contract? “Yes, there is money aspects and my lawyers are going through the paper work. But even they broke the contract by not taking action against Armaan. I am ready for the consequences.” In a moved tone, Sofia further added, “Ratings soared due to the arrest so I have contributed to the show a lot, if that’s all what they wanted. And if you notice, the arrest happened on 16th night, the day of Nirbhaya case anniversary, so the universe is behind us. I can’t be part of a finale where Armaan will do a skit with Salman (host Salman Khan) and I will sit and laugh. This is a matter of all women and even Pooja Bhatt (actress/director) has supported me.” It has also been reported that co contestant Kamya Punjabi’s statement helped cops to nab Armaan. “Yes, Kamya’s statement to the police has helped my case. I am wondering how come Armaan was not presented before the court and got quick bail. I will pursue this case to its logical conclusion. But I am humbled by the world wide support.” So has Armaan’s dad (Rajkumar Kohli) filed a defamation case against her? “Although he said about it he has not yet done that as he knows I have not lied.” Well, this is one panga which will get dirtier in the coming days.
