Soniya Kour who participated in Imagine’s Dulhan hunt for Rahul Mahajan, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge has bagged her first fiction show with Sony Entertainment Television and Trishula Productions’ upcoming show, Anamika. Soniya essays the character of a Sardarni who is the eldest daughter-in-law in the male lead’s family. Talking about her role, Soniya states, “Jasleen the character I essay is a typical kaam chor, who escapes from her responsibilities at home. She has this tendency to gossip with her mother on phone. She has a very cute bonding with her devar, the male lead in the show, Jeet essayed by Mudit Nayar. The way she talks and the words she uses will bring smiles on the faces of viewers. While everyone in the family forces her to do her share of work, she jumps on her husband (essayed by Hemant Chadha) and removes her anger on him in a jovial manner.” On her journey post Dilwale Dulhaniya, Soniya states, “I did a reality talk show Meethi Choori for Imagine after which I was seen in episodics. I recently did an episodic of Haunted Nights on Sahara One which was a story of about 6-7 episodes. I am happy to have bagged my first fiction show with Anamika.” Anamika launches on 26 November (2012) and will take the 8 pm slot on Sony and Soniya Kour requests viewers to check out her new avatar, that of a typical bahu in the show.
