MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television, with its progressive, finite fiction shows, has struck the right chord with the audience over the years. It’s latest offering, 'Story 9 Months Ki' is yet another endearing narrative about ‘choice motherhood’ through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). The protagonist of the show ‘chooses’ to become a mother without a partner, opting to embrace motherhood on her own terms. Starring Sukirti Kandpal as Alia Shroff, who returns to television after a hiatus of two years and Aashay Mishra as Sarangdhar Pandey, the show is produced by Rangrez Television Works. Story 9 Months Ki premieres on November 23 and will air every Mon-Thurs at 10:30pm only on Sony Entertainment Television.
With Story 9 Months Ki, Sony Entertainment Television aims to provoke a positive line of thought and discussion about the choice of motherhood, with an eclectic mix of romance, comedy, drama and emotions added in. The show breaks away from the cliched narrative where boy-meets-girl, they fall in love, get married and then have a baby.

Harvard-returned, Alia Shroff, is a successful entrepreneur at 30, and has planned her life well. Alia makes a choice to become a single mother through IVF. She has chalked out every single detail, but the only aspect holding her back from achieving her goal is an appropriate sperm donor. According to Alia, she wants to find a perfect donor who is just like her. But as they say, fate works in mysterious ways and not everything happens as per plan.
While Alia is busy executing plans to become a mother by choice, Sarangdhar a young aspiring writer from Mathura crosses paths with Alia all at once. Both Alia and Sarangdhar are like two opposite ends of a pole having distinctive personalities. However, Sarangdhar lands a job in Alia’s company to pursue his writing career and accidently ends up becoming Alia’s donor!
