After Kuch is tara Sony launches a new show Salaam Zindgi which will replace Thodi Khushi Thode Gham. The story will showcase the emotional and engaging journey of a young, vivacious girl who becomes a resilient police inspector. “Salaam Zindgi in one word is the story of a dream seen by somebody but fulfilled by somebody else. It’s a different concept which portrays the determination of a girl to achieve her goals. I agree that Sony’s reality shows are more popular but now we have taken a step forward. We are trying to give audiences a different taste of fiction shows and I’m sure they’ll like this tale of Manya and her journey,” says Sanjay Upadhyay, Creative Director and Head of Fiction, Sony. Pariva Pranati who is also seen in Smriti Irani’s Viruddh, will be playing the lead character of Manya in the show. “I took up this show as I don’t want to repeat my self. After playing Sandhya in Viruddh the role of Manya attracted me. It’s the story of girl who has grown up with simple dreams and does everything with a lot of passion. She always dreamed of becoming a renowned danseuse but life has stored something else for her. Now it’s her turn to choose between her dreams and reality,” she explains. Abhay Vakil is the leading actor opposite Pariva. “I play the role of Akash who is outgoing and a complete charmer. He is a prankster by nature and keeps playing pranks on Manya that creates a rift between them. Later their relation turns into good friendship which will lead to love,” quips Abhay. He was last seen in Zaara on Sahara One. Deepak Quazir, Gopi Desai, Anita Kulkarni and Sachin Khurana are the other important characters of Salaam Zindgi. How different Salaam Zindgi is from the other cop serials we have been watching we will know on 10 Dec.
