Another actor to board the buggy heading to destination Bollywood is Sumeet Raghvan; a common face on the T.V with plethora of ads that one can't count on finger tips.
To give you a quick flash of his work Sumeet's primary claim to fame is his character of Dr. Sahil Sarabhai in Star One's best ever comic venture Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai. Last seen in Sudhanshu Pandey starred Akela as the ghost friend Savio. One can catch him exercising his vocal cords and showcasing his singing talent in Zee Marathi's Saregama Challenge. The multi-lingual actor quotes, "I was trained in classical singing for 10 years and have lost touch for the past 17 years; this was an opportunity to get back on the floor. In fact, I hadn't thought of it till Ajay Bhalwankar, Creative Head Zee Marathi insisted that I should try being a part of this celebrity special. Also, I was bored with TV on the whole and this came in as an interesting platform, so here I am."
Sumeet is all set to debut in the up coming U Me aur Hum in Ajay Devgan' home production, Devgan Entertainment and Software Limited. We caught up with the actor to check on his role and his decision to move away from TV. Is he quitting TV, and is this film a result of the same? "Not quite, I definitely won't do saas bahu trash. But I can't quit TV; it has given me my bread butter jam. This film came across my way and I wanted to do it, so as to not reflect this offer as a risk that I had not dared to take on years down the line," the actor avers.
U Me aur Hum sounds comic, but its supposedly hatake, right? "Well, it is a mature romantic love story between Ajay and Kajol Devgan. Every ones role in the film is very well sketched out; and I am playing Ajay's bump-chum Nikhil, who is often by his side in the film."
And how has been his experience amidst the stars of the film, "It's been great! We belong to the same school of acting: completely natural and spontaneous! And being such big stars they are so down to earth. I have done some solo shots and am waiting to share my screen space with them, now. "
The flick is incidentally Ajay's directorial debut and slated to release early next year.
Till then stay tuned to this space…
