When Sunil Grover decided to move out of Colors’ Comedy Nights With Kapil (SOL\ K9 Productions), all Gutthi lovers (the character that Sunil played) were left in a state of shock. They yearned to have him back in the show but Sunil, chasing higher ambitions, joined hands with Star Plus and donned the avatar of Chutki on Mad In India. The endeavour never clicked and the channel decided to pull it off airwaves. But Sunil’s decision of moving out of Comedy Nights and helming his own show led to lot of bad blood with reports of Colors resorting to legal action against him hitting headlines. No one can really state precisely on why Sunil decided to throw away the avatar of Gutthi, which infused new lease of life in his entertainment career. Many say relationship went sour between him and Comedy Nights’ main man, Kapil Sharma. Now, all negative emotions seem to have been washed away as media reports suggest that Sunil is set to return to Comedy Nights. But hold on? Will he play the famous character of Gutthi again? The answer is ‘no’. Cuts in a source: “See, talks are one but he is yet to sign the contract. Final meeting is scheduled on Monday (14 July). Once things get finalised channel should announce it officially.” The same source informed that chances of Sunil returning to the show are pretty high and as and when it happens, he will not be seen as Gutthi, as of now. In his entry episode he will be seen as Manju’s (Sumona Chakravarti) father. Over time, he will be seen donning different avatars. We got in touch with Sunil but he chose not to comment.
