MUMBAI: Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni, known for her impactful performances in films like Prithviraj Chauhan and television shows such as Vighnaharta Ganesha, Gupta Brothers, Tenali Rama, and Shrimad Ramayan, is all set to captivate audiences in her new role as Parvati in the mythological series Jai Veer Hanuman. The actress, who has carved a niche for herself in both historical and contemporary roles, opened up about her journey and preparation for this significant character.

“Playing Parvati has been a transformative experience for me,” Aishwarya shares. “This character embodies power, innocence, devotion, love, and nature—all the qualities that I strive to keep within myself. It’s a role that has deeply impacted me, and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to portray it.”

The actress emphasizes her dedication to authenticity, especially in roles with historical or mythological significance. “For such characters, you can’t just interpret them randomly. You need to dive into their essence by reading books, understanding stories, and watching references. It’s about absorbing everything into your system to truly bring the character to life.”

Aishwarya credits her seamless performances to the collaborative efforts of her directors, creative team, and co-actors. “During script readings, we share our ideas, and the director guides us on what works best. This process helps us remain true to the script while adding depth to the character.”

Preparation for her roles often extends beyond the script. Whether it’s undergoing fight training for action sequences or extensive dance rehearsals, Aishwarya ensures she gives her all. “Every role demands something different. For Parvati, it was about channeling divinity and grace, which required a unique level of mental and emotional preparation.”

When asked about her dream roles, Aishwarya reveals, “I’d love to play a character like Deepika Padukone’s in Cocktail or a typical Bollywood hero in a love story like Shah Rukh Khan in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. My ultimate dream is to star in a superhit love story as the main protagonist.”
