MUMBAI : Fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah were shocked to know that Sharad Sankla aka Abdul, has reportedly left the show, according to several unconfirmed rumors. The actor has now responded to these claims and stated that they are false. Sharad Sankla recently revealed that he is a crucial part of Asit Kumar Modi's program and that he would never consider quitting the well-liked sitcom.
“No, the news is absolutely untrue. I am not going anywhere and very much part of the show. The storyline in the show is such that my character is not there but very soon Abdu will return. It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show and I am known because of my character of Abdul, it is a big achievement. Why will I quit the show? I can’t even think of quitting the show,” Sharad told the popular news portal.
“The production house Neela Telefilms is like a family to me and our Producer Asit Kumarr Modi is my college friend, there is no way I will ever quit the show. Jab tak show chalta rahega tab tak main uska hissa bana rahunga (I will remain with TMKOC as long as it continues to air),” the actor added.
Because Abdul is missing from the Gokuldham society in the show's current track, reports of Sharad Sankla leaving TMKOC made the headlines.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah might be the most-watched sitcom in India having aired for 16 years. Nonetheless, several actors, including Jennifer Mistry, Raj Anadkat, Shailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh, and Disha Vakani, have left the program in recent years.
Kush Shah portrayed Goli in the program, also left recently. In a video released by TMKOC last month, Kush Shah announced his exit from the show and stated, “When this show started, when you and I first met, I was very young. You have given me a lot of love since then. And this family has given me as much love as you have given me. I have made a lot of memories here. I have enjoyed a lot here. I have spent my childhood here and most importantly I want to thank the creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Mr. Asit Kumar Modi for this journey. He trusted me so much, made my character so interesting and always inspired me. Because of his trust, Kush became Goli today.”
